What do you do on Christmas Eve? What are your traditions? We are very simple in my house. We have a Christmas Eve dinner of pizza. Sometimes homemade, sometimes purchased at a pizza place. We bring it home and eat while playing monopoly. This year it will be Coca-Cola monopoly. Afterward, we’ll pile in the car and go to different areas of town to look at decorations and lights.
I have been going to look at lights since I was a little girl. My grandpa used to take me every year. It’s something I do with my kids now as well. It’s one of the things that get me into the spirit. Better late that not at all, right?
After we get home, we’ll sometimes watch a Christmas movie then send the kids off to bed. I’ll finish any last minute wrapping that needs to be done and put everything under the tree for Christmas morning.

As I sit here writing this blog, DH is playing a golf game, my DD is finishing up a math project the teacher gave on the last day of class, DS is watching the Tom and Jerry Nutcracker special, my mom is somewhere in house doing something, and my grandmother is reading a book in the living room. It’s gray and overcast outside. And though there isn’t anything really exciting going on, it’s a nice feeling to sit here and take it all in, the feeling and closeness of the family.
So, what are your traditions?

And for my sweet blogmates…

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
